The flowers are tiny and can easily be missed, unless there's a patch of them. In this neck of the woods, they usually challenge woodland strawberry to provide the earliest spring colour.
The violets were first this year, by a couple of days, and their cheery hues of blue are a most welcome sight.
I love these sweet little wild violets. There is a field near my place these are over blooming. The whole field appears light purple almost.
