  1. Lovely picture. The water effects are awesome. I've never seen a white violet before. Is this your national flower?

    1. Thank you, Ginger Mickey.

Canada doesn't have a national flower. The provinces and territories each have one, but there hasn't been one officially designated for the country.

    2. Then it must only grow in Canada, hence, the name.

    3. There's Canada Goldenrod; Solidago canadensis too (no, it's not what you're thinking).

  2. We have the American Beauty Rose but I don't think we have a National Flower either, just the individual States.

    1. I imagine bipartisan selection committees would have to be established, taking care not to offend or discourage supporters and lobbyists of various species and blah, blah, blah...

  3. We keep it simple here in California. The wild poppy is our State Flower!

Did you hear about the oil spill off the coast of Santa Barbara? It's just 200 miles north of here. Very sad.

    1. New Brunswick's provincial flower is the purple violet. It blooms a little later than the early blue violet; I'll take a picture if I see one.

Yes, I read about the oil spill. Most disturbing. They're pushing for new pipelines across Canada. Sigh.
