Soft Colour

Common Redpoll; Carduelis flammea

  1. Great captures! Lucky shot! Nice to see lots of nature

  2. You are such an excellent wildlife protraitist. I so appreciate the colors of your world, soft and otherwise. The details of the shots are intriguing -- something wispy and light green on the branches, but surely you don't have Spanish moss; the soft tinting and variegation of the plumage; the gleam of the eyes. The boreal blue of your skies as a background is startling but delightful.

    1. Thank you Hoosier Honyock.

It takes some patience and putting up with cold fingertips, but it is such pleasure to stand amidst them as they go about their business, and to capture their colours and personalities.

I think the "wispy and light green" is Spruce Moss (Evernia mesomorpha), a shrub lichen.
