Gymnosperm, my friend. A plant with naked seeds, seeds not protected by an ovary or fruit (methinks one could have 'pun' with those words).
I'm referring to the conifers in the picture. They're in their glory right now; not yet laden with snow and standing out with the deciduous trees bare.
