    1. Thank you, surfstud. The lush new growth on the conifers always pleases my eye.

      The species is white spruce. Balsam fir is pretty much the only fir native to this neck of the woods. Douglas-fir is one of the species I really miss from my wanderings in the western forests, along with western hemlock and western red cedar.
