Strife of Pie

  1. My dear Mr Hawkke,
May I wish you all the very best for the New Year... I believe that writing your name in the snow whilst peeing is ill advised at this time of the year... Something about frostbite! I cannot imagine how cold it gets in your neck of the woods. Please stay safe... I hear that you are in for more snow storms with temperatures in the minus 30 degrees celius. thats cold... I'm shivering just thinking about it darling...

    1. Hello Princess.

Thank you for your comment. It is warming just to know that you stopped by and, if you can spare it, I wouldn't mind if you wafted a gentle breeze of your Australian summer this way.

You're right, peeing in the snow is no pleasure in these conditions and just pisses off the member, so to speak.

Another snow storm is forecast tomorrow, which is entirely unnecessary, as the snow is already thigh deep. Of greater concern, though, is another ice storm forecast for Monday. The trees are still laden from the last one; more damage would be disheartening and I'm not sure I can endure another prolonged power outage.

It is too cold and difficult to get around the woods for self-portraiture, which is frustrating.

Anyway, your thoughts and wishes are cheering. I send lots of warm thoughts your way for 2014.

  2. Ps. I love the photograph posted on the 30th."In a Sense... Time"
You are just magic in the way you are able to capture the light and create a mood... It engenders a sense of hope arising from the gloom for me... Thankyou...

    1. Thank you, Princess.

I must admit, I photograph the spectacular scenery somewhat begrudgingly, given the damage that has been caused (but I'll get over it).
